JacTravel Wins Two Industry Awards

In less than a week, JacTravel, which is best known as a B2B wholesaler of accommodation and provider of inbound travel services to the UK, Ireland and Continental Europe, has won two highly-regarded industry awards, one from UK Inbound, Tour Operator of the Year, the other from AccorHotels’ UK, Partnership Achievement Award – Group Wholesaler.  This is the second year in a row that JacTravel has won both these awards.

Nikki Beake, Strategic Account Manager, Global Sales & Distribution UK & Ireland, AccorHotels, said: “JacTravel has been a loyal client of AccorHotels over a number of years and has grown its group business to both the UK and Europe in 2016. In addition, we are delighted to have signed a global dynamic rate agreement with them for FIT business last year.”

JacTravel’s Iain Limond, Vice President Groups & Offline FIT, said: “These awards are a great tribute to our staff who have not just looked after our customers and provided a level of service that results in consistent repeat business; they have also launched substantial new initiatives to increase what we sell and how we sell it.”

In 2016, JacTravel introduced special interest tours, boutique accommodation and sporting packages featuring new English Premier League football packages for 2016. To complement an already strong offer for Scotland, London and the South of England, both Wales and Northern Ireland have been developed as destinations. Also new for 2016 was the launch of a MICE division for the UK market to complement JacTravel’s established leisure business.

In terms of source market development, a new office was opened in Beijing and its team there is already looking after more than a hundred corporate clients. With the launch of the totalstay.com retail platform earlier in the year, JacTravel now provides travel agents with net rates and direct booking for over 165,000 hotels worldwide.

In 2016 JacTravel generated more than £74m for the UK economy, handling over 220,000 FIT bookings and operating two-thousand-plus group tours. It also won a prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise based on strong export growth. Since 2012, it has won several awards for customer service and business excellence (including winning both the above-mentioned awards four times each in the past six years) and has consistently featured in prestigious rankings of high-growth companies.
